Dynomax Catback-beating this dead horse..
I've been to LS1Sounds.com and heard the dynomax catback on an LT1 car, and i love how 'tight' it sounds, and i'm not a fan of the backfire (redneck pop) some exhaust systems give you when you let off the go-pedal. From the video i watched, it seemed like exactly what i'm looking for, a nice racey sound that doesn't pop/backfire when you let off, and its inexpensive. Does anyone run one on an LT1 car (stock engine, intake, manifolds and cats) and can confirm my thoughts?

Hooker CB with Aerochamber
My stock 2000 Z28 would pop also when completely stock. From what I have read this is pretty much inherent to all LS1 engines with stock exhaust (particularly when cold it seems). My first mod was the Hooker CB with Aerochamber muffler and that helped a lot. I added shortie headers sometime back and it is has all but disappeared after warm-up. My inexperience leads me too think there is a built-in surplus back pressure or some other Venturi Principle. Anyway I think they all do it too some extent.

It's been my experience that any aftermarket catback sounds hot on an LT1. I'm sure it'd sound good even with manifolds and cats. Borla's my personal favorite tho. Borla+LT1=drool

Well, I have a friend with a 93 Z28 and he's got edelbrock headers and the borla catback with hollowed cats, it's loud as hell, but I'm not in the market for $800+ on an exhaust, everything on this car has been low-buck so far (bought it for under 1200$ with 100k on it, 150 for a fender, 100 for a headlight, 100 for a hood, 500+ for the paint (doing it ourselves)) and from what i can tell through the computers speakers, the dynomax is priced right (300-ish) and sounds about the cleanest of the ones i've listened to on here. (Loudmouth, Magnaflow, edelbrock etc).
