    Do I need a intake?

    Next spring planning on headers. I will replace the plugs and get a tune.
    ? should i get a new intake. I do not plan on going to the track.
    Street use only for a friday saturday night cruse car only.
    Car now has a SLP air/lid and loudmouth It is a 99 SS M6 (33,000 miles)

    I don't think a FAST or Lingenfelter one will add enought to be worth the money, but there are used take-off LS6 manifolds around which you can fit and they will add about 5-7 HP at the rear wheels and you ought to be able to find one fairly cheap.

    How cheap and where.? Any mods or do they bolt right on.

    I've seen people nearly giving away the LS6 manifold, I sold mine for $75.

    You might have to modify the EGR some but it is easy to do.

    I just purchased an LS6 for $300 and that is about the cheapest I've seen or heard of. I looked at ebay and the fourms for almost 2 months and never saw one under $300, but maybe that's just me? Rhino21149 you should have sold the manifold on ebay and made a lot more $ than $75.

    I agree. Go with the LS6 intake, they are good for between 10-15hp over the LS1 intake.
