Before i get them i have a couple questions i have.
Do yall know if the cutouts come with a switch or control to control the opening and closing. And whats the difference between flowtech ready and no flowtech? If yall have any answers id really apreciate it. Thanks!

My dmh cutout came with a roll switch. You just hold the bottom part of the switch for a couple seconds to open it and the opposite to close it. Not really sure what the difference is between other brands but I've had this one a couple years with no problems.

Pewter Metallic- 2002 Trans Am WS6 M6 D1SC
Yes it comes with a switch and flowtech is referring to getting the e-unit with or without the metal Y cutout.
I had my DMH on for a good while and it was awesome! I took it off for clearence issues but i'll be putting it back on once I get my midpipe fixed. Funny thing is though is that I kept it open almost all the time.

Same here it's almost never closed. I closed it once when I got pulled over for it being loud. The cop told me to rev my car up so he could judge if it was too loud or not. With the cutout closed he said "thats too loud" .. he had no idea but I still got a ticket. haha

So would you suggest getting it with flowtech?
DO you have to install the switch in your car or what?

Yes, you will have to install the switch in your car. Mine is located on the left side of the drivers seat in front of the seat controls. Hold the back part of the switch down for a couple seconds and it's straight headers, hold the front part down and it's closed. I would imagine it would help gas mileage being that there is no back pressure from the muffler and also horsepower seems like it would increase as well. I have a DMH 3" cutout w/Flowtech.

sometimes I find it hard to take up for other cops.....we got better crap we could be doing. You could win that one in court real easy, get up there and ask if he had a calibrated decibel reader. If not ask him what training he had to be able to perfectly tell what the sound level that was emmitting was at.

If you haven't paid the ticket yet, I'd fight it. Supercop is obviously speaking from experience. I thought his title was just that "a title". I didn't know he was really a cop. You could win this one, man. Go for it.

If you don't have an exhaust cut out in your exhaust system already you will need the flowtech cutout. The DMH is just the motorized valve that bolts to the end of it. I have one, love it. One of those mods I should have done years ago. You can see the Flowtech in this pic (big black Y shaped).

It was just a "fix it" ticket. I asked him what I do with it and he said I had to change my car and make it less loud, then he goes, "obviously I'm not going to your house to check if you have or not." So I just threw the ticket away, no problem.

He lives in a different state than you though.... in VA, if the officer THINKS it sounds ANY louder than OEM, it is illegal. ANY replacement that is non-OEM (at least for noise standards) are illegal. In VA beach, a bunch of the SRT4 guys got tickets last summer at a meet with their 100% stock OEM exhaust for being "too loud". The judge upheld the tickets too. Go law enforcement!
