CUTOUTS (yes/no)
Does anyone have any experience with cutouts?
Are there any cons to having?

I have never personally had a cutout on my car. If you ever get pulled over for too loud exhaust you might be fucked. You might want to check your states exhaust modification laws if your worried. In some states you are not supposed to enable a device that would let you bypass the muffler, and the smog police might have something against it as well. I've got borla exhaust on my car and will deal w/ the bullshit when it happens.

Midnight Blue- 2000 Camaro Z28
hell yes! it's my favorite mod yet...and i have alot done to my car. i would get an electric cutout though. i keep mine open all the time except when i am close to a cop. then all you do is flip the switch and it's semi-quiet again. no cons to an electric besides the price. oh and i'd go with the DMH. i've had a QTP and DMH and there's no contest in quality...DMH owns.

I got a an electric cutout myself and I love it. I would say that the one con to having one is that since I have alot of work done to my suspension and rear end, and it has started to coat all the parts plus the inside of my rear passenger wheel with black emission residue. Even though you could never see it from outside the car it is really starting to piss me off just because I know that it is happening. What i'm probably going to do is just cut my muffler off and just run it out the back so I can get the same sound and prolly actually make it louder since it won't be muffled from underneath the car.

It does not make it so loud that you will be pulled over if you have you still manifolds on. Its sounds good but causes underneath your car to start to rust up.

LOL, there is no fabbing. here's some pics of how they install, you just cut a hole with a template and then weld it up

ok, i apologize, i'm not trying to be hard headed or argue, don't get me wrong lol, i'm just curious why you would do that. from what i understand it's a pretty simple installation on your existing y-pipe, just cut the holes with the templates and weld them on (if you're doing two). that's the way the pics look in that link that i posted
