Black T-Tops- 2002 Camaro SS M6
CUT OUTS - Pros and Cons
I recently bought a 2002 Camaro SS M6 and I'm lovin' it!!! So far its stock cuase its plenty fast already, and it has a stock exhaust. Lately I've been looking in to cut outs and I've heard a few on some LS1s and they sound amazing! What are the pros and cons of having cut outs? Are 2 cut outs better than 1? Or does it matter? I hear you lose low end but gain it back at higher speeds. Someone also told me that you could mess up a valve cause of lack of pressure. Anyway Thanks for the help, I'm new to the LS1 world, so I thought I'd come ask the pros, thanks for the info!

Red Tint Jewelcoat- 2008 Trailblazer SS
The pro's and con's are really the same.
Just if you like them or not.
Loud.
Power can be gained OR lost depending on placement.
Electric ones have been known to fail, but much less often with the i-pipe cutout.

blacker than wesleysnipes- 98' trans am
with stock cubes and close to stock power..run 1 at the I pipe...(the bottom of the Y pipe) everything else is baloney....the cons...you might not like the sound...and if you get a regular cut-out...non-electronic..then it will suck having to get under your car to uncap it

Sounds good, easy to instail, cheap..
Hmm After i instailed mine i never closed it. Put it in the I pipe, about 3 years ago, just a manual one with a plate.

my e-cutout is by far my favorite mod. It's like adding a toy to your ride. I have a lot of fun with it.

I have a mccord power plate....once you see the price you'll know why. Yeah, they all have the same mount as far as I know. It's just a 3" header flange pretty much.

In the cubby in front of the shifter. I pulled that cubby out and cut some plexiglass and painted it black then put real thin strips of velcro behind it to secure it.

Black T-Tops- 2002 Camaro SS M6
where would you guys suggest I put a cut out on my stock Camaro SS exhaust? I want it to be the loudest possible!!!

put it in the I-pipe right under the passenger rear seat. If you go with an e-cutout there's a grommet right above that location that will allow you to run the wires inside the car.
