Check Gauges/LS6 Intake Install?
I installed my LS6 Intake last night... I got everything bolted back up, and started the car and had that damn 'Check Gauges' light staring at me... So I proceeded to let the car run for about 20 minutes and checked all the connections under the hood and checked the gauges again and everything was normal... I test drove it and everything was normal.. I didnt break the oil pressure sensor on the rear of the manifold if im thinking of the right thing... Any ideas?

It will need to be retuned. It has changed the A/F ratio.

You shouldn't need a tune just for installing an LS6 manifold. Thats a waste of time. If you're going to get a tune, do all your mods first, such as intake, headers, exhaust, TB, or if you get heads/cam. Then get a tune.
What does your oil pressure gauge say when the car is running?? If its pinned at the top or at zero, then you broke the oil pressure sending unit. The "Check Gauges" light is on because it wants to make you aware that one of the gauges is way off, in this case the oil pressure gauge.
Replace the sending unit, you should be fine.

I think you misread.
He's not talking about the SES light. He's talking about the "Check Gauges" light, which is completely different, and is only there to alert you when a gauge is out of range (temp, fuel, oil pressure). It doesn't throw any codes, and when the gauge goes back to normal it will go off.

Don't think he's talking about the SES - my guess is the OP sensor wasn't fully plugged in or something.

Is the Oil Pressure Sensor the one that clips onto the top of the rear manifold and has an electrical type plug as well as just a small fitting that goes into a hole in the manifold?

I broke my oil sending unit when I did my cam and had to pull the intake. Had to order a new one. That is a good possibility that you did.

Probably not broken if the gauge is reading correctly and not leaking? In my earlier post I was thinking about the wire connection to it.

You can get an OP sensor socket from a parts store so you don't have to remove the intake. Not too hard, just unplug connector and screw it out, reaching it is the pain. Beware the '98 sensors are a little different from the '99+ if you need one.

Those are the dirtiest heads I've ever saw.
I'll give you the official welcome to the "I broke my oil pressure sensor swapping intakes club". We don't have meetings and there's really no perks to being in the club other than when someone says they got a check gauges light after intake install it's now your duty to kind of laugh and explain to them what they did.

wow thanks! I feel very welcome! Maybe we should arrange a meeting and have like a little 'how-to' show for those who have yet to swap their intake and break their OP Sensor... Just so theyll know how to break it clean off...
