    Catalytic Converter question

This may be a stupid question bear with me. I'm thinking about gutting my cat's. I'm in PA so i need them for emissions, but the car never see's 5,000mi a year so im exempt. If i hollow out the cats will that give me a raspy sound or would it sound like a ORY? I'm after both power and noise. I'm running a borla adjustable with no plates and Kooks LT headers.

    Thanks for any input

Which cats do you have on there now?
Since you have lt's i would say you allready have high flow cats, If so you wouldnt benefit by destroying them.

I beleive they are magnaflow and they are hi-flow. They're the ones that come with the kooks setup.
Would sound increase by gutting them if power isn't a big factor?

Very little, probably not worth your trouble.

Any power increases will be offset by the turbulence created from having empty cat casings that the exhaust has to flow through.

Good choice Ruthie,we will all breath better too.Cats are very important to the environment and the air we breath. You can't imagine how much toxic waste comes out your tailpipe and gets dumped into the air.The cat helps to clean this up quite a bit.If you don't think your car dumps that much try breathing the air that comes out your tailpipe for just 1 min....bet you don't get to breath the second min.

Get a Kooks ory. Open Borla, ory, and Long Tubes here. Sounds like pure evil.
