Which CAT back system gives the most HP?

I have never seen a test on this.

No body ever asks this question either.

Any legit info. on this subject.

For the most part you can't go wrong with any of them. They all make around the same gains. Flowmaster seems to be the worst but other than that just to with what you like sound wise and your set.

There are true dual catbacks, like the Bassani, TSP kit, or homemade setups, and there are y-pipe to single axle catbacks. Duals make more power than the standard single pipe catbacks. There are numerous single pipe catbacks, each with their own sounds http://www.ls1sounds.com/ . I have never seen a comprehensive comparison of catbacks, but I would expect there to be power variances between systems depending mostly on pipe size and muffler flow rates. I'm sure there are people here with pre and post dyno numbers for various catback setups...

If your looking for the most power, do what jag said ^ and look into getting some true duals.

Stay away from flowmaster. If I remember correctly Dynomax flows the most out of any muffler out there. I dont remember which version tho. Ill check it out and get back on that. But I do remember seeing it flows like 4x's more than flowmaster.

For the most HP buy the SLP Loudmouth. I made 24 more rwhp with my SLP then when I had a full 3" Flowmaster system on my car.

like above there bascailly the same, but also remember in future install of headers the sound will determine the sound, example ( some with the slp louad mouth love the sound at first but hate it with conjucntion with headers)

What is the differance in horsepower gain if you go full catback or one of the good mufflers made by these companies.

There are so many different mufflers and pipe size combinations it would be nearly impossible to say. A better flowing muffler would make more power than stock, but larger pipes would also make more power.

Depends on what vehicle you have. If you have a ss or ws6 just a muffler replacement is fine since it already has the bigger pipes. If you have a z28 or formula a whole cat back is ideal because you will have bigger pipes and better flowing muffler. I'm not sure on the regular T/A's what size pipes they have but I believe it is just the ss and ws6 that have the bigger pipes. Some on correct me if im wrong.

money wise get the cat back of your chocie, you would pay more for to get a new mufler welded on to exiisting pipes then to do order a new cat back system and just bolt in in your self

There were 2 different systems avaliable for the base T/A. The regular shit flow and the optional less restrictive setup with the oval tips. It flows less than the WS6 and the Firehawk setups thats for damn sure.
