Cam or Nitrous
Well im pretty much done with all the bolt ons and want to move on and get more power since im not very happy with it right now. I have the spark plugs for nitrous and a tune from Frost for nitrous were i can have max N/A tune and then when i flip the switch to arm the nitrous it will have max tune for nitrous. Only have the money to do one of these mods for now.
Should i just spend money buying a nitrous kit, ofcourse i will be buying the bottle heater but will pass on the other stuff since ive used nitrous in the past and didnt have any issues. My 2nd option is get a good street cam and have the mechanic at my work place install it and get a re tune from Frost which will get the car to run decent till i save up more money to get a dyno tune. This will not be a track car and want enough power to have some fun with it no goals off getting low E.T's since that requires way more then just hp but suspension, tires and driver amoung other things. What do you guys think i should do.Last edited by karpetcm; 06-10-2010 at 04:35 PM.

Do a cam. Power will be there all the time then, no need to refill.

i use to pay 46 bucks to fill up a 10lb bottle each time. I would'nt use it much but it came in handy when i needed it.

Cam is a good, solid foundation to building a motor. Reliable power too. Nitrous is ok, I am just a bit leary of it - a lot of variables into having it work properly and when something fails.... well, you know. Not that an engine in itself can't fail though. I guess I've always prefered to build an engine and see what I can get out of it on it's own. That's just me though. Nitrous is a quick/relatively cheap way to add a larger amount of hp.

On my 93Z i was at 392RWHP with a 125 shot of nitrous and i was impressed. I later went to 150 shot and was even more impressed. I would like to go a different route this time, i guess it all depends on what it costs for labor. Ill ask the mechanic on saturday and see what happens.
