call me crazy...
I had an 80 series Flowmaster installed yesterday (I'm low on funds and wanted a different sound, which is why I replaced only the muffler). Anyways...today, the car doesn't seem as fast. Like it lost some torque. Is there a logical reason for this?

What were you running before the flowmaster ?

It had a ForzaFlow. It's basically a Flowmaster ripoff...which is why I didn't think it would make a difference....just a little different sound. But there is def a noticeable difference in power across the board. It pisses me off. Now I remember why I didn't like the Flowmasters I had on my Dakota- they killed the power in that thing too. Now I'm wondering about just cutting the damn thing off, and running open exhaust until payday when I can buy a decent setup.

The ticket you will get for running open exhaust will cost you more then the muffler. Wait until payday and swap it out for a Borla muffler. Then you can put the Flowmaster on Ebay and get back some of your money. Sorry about your problem but I almost made the same mistake, I stayed with the SLP stainless steel muffler that came with my CME system. Are you running LTH or TLH ?

No...it's completely stock. I just bought the car a little over a month ago. Actually...the guy I bought it from was running without a muffler, but he reinstalled the exhaust before I had a chance to hear it. You think it would be too loud with no muffler? Any idea why flowmasters suck on the Fbodies?
I do plan on going LTH in a few months....Borla would be a good choice with that in mind? I've always been a Magnaflow guy.

I have never been a fan of the "Flowmaster sound". If I recall, there has been at least one other member who posted similar concerns after installing a Flowmaster on his F-body. No idea why it would make such a noticeable difference in power.

I think the problem is with the Flowmaster 80 series. The one into two concept creates too much back pressure unlike the straight through one in one out design. The 80 series also has more baffels.
