A/C Grinding metal noise
When I start my car there is a grinding metal sound coming from the compressor I believe (the belt is spinning but not the middle part). When I fill it with freon it will start to spin and the sound stops but then it blows the fuse. What could be wrong? Also it doesnt Leak at all, it holds the same pressure when I checked it a few weeks ago until now. We did replace the engine, so maybe I need to vaccum it? IM really not sure what to do. I would be greatful for any help. Thanks

It sounds like it could be a bad Compressor clutch. If the fuse blows when the Clutch is engaged its probably drawing too may amps.

Not sure about the cost. You would most likely replace the compressor it self. If its just the clutch you may be able to have someone rebuild it.

I Just ended up vacuuming it for 50 mins, and replacing all fluids, and now its working! SO glad I didnt have to get a new compressor or anything. Thanks for the help.
