Borla Exhaust Pics
I posted this in the camaro/ss forum but not much help. I am hoping to get a better response here. I have a 98 Z28 and was having additional work done to the car when someone informed me that my exhaust was not installed properly. I have Hooker Headers and a Y-pipe with borla exhaust. They stated that it should be tucked under the car instead of hanging as low as it does. See pictures. I still have to get it up on a hoist to get additional pics but it keeps raining. Going to try tomorrow. Was wondering if anyone has ideas or pics of their exhaust.

I don't think anything is wrong. The pipe is going under the axle instead of over it. It looks like a poorly done under-axle custom exhaust.

that looks like it would scrap alot. i have a borla that goes over the axle on my TA and it doesnt look anything like that. if you want to, im sure any exhaust shop can redo it so it goes over it.

It does go over the axle. I actually have a pic. I think the problem is that its not turned to lay parallel with the bottom of the car.

Looks like it needs some adjusting. Just take out that over the axle pipe and put it back in... you should be fine. Good luck

How is he going to adjust it with it all welded like that? It has been so pieced together I don't see any easy fix for that. You can see where it has been scraping but no badly. If it not a problem I would say leave it alone. Your other options would be let a muffler shop chop off some of the old pipe and replace it with a used stock intermediate pipe or contact borla and get some pipework from them to replace it.

I can't believe how messed up it truly is. I think my option is to either buy the borla cat back exhaust or corsa. I hear good things about magna-flow and it is cheaper just not sure how it will sound with headers and a y-pipe. The borla is very loud but if I bought new I could put the restrictor plate in it. Suggestions?

I suggest corsa, because that is what I have. I got my corsa catback for $619. PM me and i can let you know where I got it. You will be suprised!
What kind of torque arm is that?

How does your borla sound. Do you have cats on your car? Performance wise do you think its any different than a borla. Torque arm is BMR.
