    Question Best Intake Systems?

Hey I am looking into upgrading external engine parts and was just wondering what the best parts would be for them money all around. I don't plan on going into the internal features of the engine till it goes out so I just want to know how far I can push the LS1.
So that brings me to the question of what would be the best intake for the money? I have been looking at performance products Typhoon #52065 which is a LS2 intake that excepts LS1 injectors, or should I be looking at an LS6.
What type lb. injectors could I use with these set ups and such?

ok well several things...fack the ls2 intake manifold..go for ls6...unless your going head and cam..which i assume you will do if you want to push the ls1 to the limit..in which case you will want to run the fast 9x/9x..fast excepts your stock fuel rails and injectors. ...injectors do not need to be changed until you go cam..or cam/heads.

Does anyone know what the inlet is on a LS6 manifold like say 92mm and which ones off of other cars will fit mine? I don't want to purchase anything that I won't use later when I get into the motor after college!

it is stock ls1 size..i think it is either 72,76,or 78 ..sorry for the confusion..but the ls6 is a bolt on..the fast9x ...you need either an adapter for the TB.or pick up a 90 or 92 tb

If you are not going to extreme an ls6 intake will be just fine. Going a little more extreme? Fast 90 or 92. I might suggest a ptm throttle body. Cheap and really, really nice!!!

Yes, Fitment absolutely sucks. Its a metal manifold so it gets heat soaked and performance goes way down. Do some research on here and tech and you will see that not 1 person will recomend it. for the same price get a LS6.

Just get it over with and Buy a FAST 92 and a PTM 92 TB.

    PTM TB's are very nice.

Get a ls6 intake from a 01 or 02 F-body, as they were stock on the ls1's for these years.

So will accept the LS1 style injectors or will I have to purchase them with the LS6 intake?

I guess I have to pick one of the two! I am thinking about just going ahead and getting the LS6 since I have a stock motor. Does anyone know what hp gains I will get with this one? I see that the Fast 92 advertises 15+ hp gains!

i believe its 15+ over other aftermarket manifolds..i would say you will see 15+ with a ls6 swap..i am waiting to do this mod myself i am told you can feel it..which is always good.

I installed my 92/92 on my WS6. The heads were already ported and had Kooks 1 7/8's LT with custom exhaust.

You can feel it... just dont get really really worked up over it. You might be disappointed. I definitely felt a major increase in throttle response. Also the upper RPM's it was noticeable. Mind you, this was going from a stock LS1 intake and a stock LS1 TB. Its not gonna be a "oh shit, pin you in the seat increase". But you wiil feel difference.

Also, I gained 2 MPG with my TB!! Mine was drilled though causing erratic idle.

honestly, having been there and done that, forget the Ls6 intake and get a FAST 90/90 and port the sum-a-bitch and call it a day...

i went from an Ls6 intake/stock TB (non P&P) for a FAST 90/90 Tony Mamo ported (additional porting by me), and picked up 35rwhp/10rwtq over the Ls6 set-up. sure, not everyone might see this, but again, that's OVER the highly praised Ls6 intake...

injectors only need to be swapped out once duty cycle nears 90-95%, IMO. i was putting down 443/402 with stock injectors. recently upgraded with install of U/D pulley and Meziere EWP...
