    Best Exaust for LS1?

I want to know what is the best cat back exaust for the price. I work a minmum wage job and i want to know what would create the most power for my LS1. I want to pay about 500 or so. If you know what'll be good let me know

Not that it would sound the best but if your car is stock and you wanted to "free" the flow up you could just take off the stock muffler all the way to the y-pipe.

You could also get an off road y-pipe and slap a a muffler like a 10 series or a bullet on there, and let it end before the axle.

Cheaper alternatives then a catback^ with more flow(even though you won't feel a difference between a muffler and that)

most common: borla, magnaflow, and gmmg, i have the borla on my two cars and love it. it's basically a cut out exhaust.

I've got a Hooker Aeroflow Catback w/ Elrctric Cutout that I've been trying to get rid of for some time now. I was trying to get $400 for it, but shoot me an offer and I'm sure we can work something out.

I have a TSP exhaust for about 260. I love it and sounds great. it would be good for you and save money for some headers.

Ive always heard SLP loud mouths are loud and raspy. Ive heard them in person on Mustangs and they are just one thing... L O U D.. havnt heard them on ls1s but from what i gather, if you want it loud, and i mean LOUD, get a SLP. I got a flowmaster on mine and it sounds pretty desent with a stock system. Im moving up to headers and ORY and im keeping the rest how it us. Im gonna see how it sounds with the Flowmaster since no one keeps their stck cat back. If mine rusts through, then i will get a magnaflow, but for now i like the flowmaster. Id get magnaflow for the stainless.

The only way they sound decent is on a stock setup, after that they sound like unwiped ass.

Yep if you want to keep it cheap a small muffler and dumped at no more than a 45 degree angle to keep dust from blowing up around the rims.

Here's how I currently have mine starting right off the end of the Y-pipe.
    Magnaflow #14419: 3" in/out,14" case length, 4 diameter case.
About a 12" of 3" stainless tubing (only used 9") and a stainless steel turn-down with a Universal exhaust hanger welded to it and mounted up above.
