    Best Alternators?

I got a bunch of assicaore like, NX, sound system, blah blah.. Currently I'm on my second yellow top in my 02 SS and my car is round 65,000 miles. What is the best alternator I should go with? I do drive it everyday if that helps?

    Thanks

I just got off the phone with Powermaster and was told that I would have to modify the power steering hard line to clear the bigger case. $400.00 in natural finish. They make another model that fits with no mod but the output is the same at idel as stock. I was a little bummed out.

Just got off the phone with Afterthoughts and WOW half the cost for a 160amp thats a direct fit. Good news for me . From what I heard that stock unit puts out about 105 amp and just about 52amps at idle. The new unit "just guessing here" should be at 80amps at idle. Sounds great.. thanks for the tip. Anyone ever use one this type by Afterthoughts?

Are there any side effects of getting an alternator that puts out more amperage for our cars, if they DONT have stereo upgrades?

In other words, having a stronger alternator for no solid reason other than wanting something other than stock?

Arent our stock alternators notorious for being shitty?

I can't find the alternator on their website anymore. I need to replace mine ASAP and I was hoping this was a possability.
