BBK headers and Y...will it bolt up to...
I am about to pull the trigger on the BBK LT's that come with a Y-pipe (#1694). Will the Y bolt straight to a Magnaflow or other cat back exhaust? Am I going to need to have a custom exhaust welded up? Help!

are you really gonna buy em this time??? lol. ill tell you what ive prolly told u before but i think you just like to hear it better from a computer. it should bolt up but like with any aftermarket part there will prolly be some mods here and there to make a tight fit. def since your dealing with two diff aftermarket brands, nothin we (I) cant handle with a 12 pack and some free time in your garage

Thanks for the input. Im still debating between a complete cat back or a muffler and a turndown?

A full catback system would be more effective than say borla xr-1 with a turndown? Im just looking for the best possible performance, I have a friend to destroy in the 1/4 mile!

neither one is going to win or loose you a race. your talking a difference of 4-6 rwhp

Hey, that 4-6HP is the difference between 394 and 400HP! I'd rather have the 400!!!

Yeah I would recommend them. Fitment is good. I had to pound the passenger side heat plate a bit to get it right but other than that it was pretty good. The clearance these headers free up is amazing! My pacesetters I have on my SS take up so much more space it’s insane. The only down side to that I would say is that there is less over all volume in the pipes before they hit the collector and that the collectors are 2 ½” instead of 3”. They pretty much hug the firewall and underside of the car instead of coming straight down and having an "L" shape. The Y pipe fitment is very good as well. I was quite impressed with them over all.

Take a hammer to the heat shield and loosen up all connections of the y pipe and keep wiggling until its right. That’s what we did and it ended up fitting pretty well. But yes, you are right, the driver side could be a bit closer and the passenger side could use a little more space but all in all I think after messing with it the fitment is good, better than some other brands I have dealt with that is.
