    Bassani True Duals...

Okay, decided (finally) to get an exhaust. After much contemplation, I've decided to go with the Bassani True Dual system offered through Vinci. In reference to "Headers" though, any recommendations to be used w/this system?

Have read many articles about the Bassani "Tri-Y" headers for the F-Body soon to be released, but this seems to be a seriously delayed project (unless I missed they're release). Not too concerned about Long Tubes, as I might have to run the cats anyways... and have been considering MAC Mid-Lengths.

    Opinions would be greatly appreciated!

I just intalled my bassani true duals, I got the pictures on this link:http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2372915

Watch out when you get yours installed make sure you don't get the actual X pipe hit the transmission tunnel. I had a few of issues on mine (I pipes were too long, and the X pipe were hitting the tunnel, tail pipe pieces were short) It's fixed now though, and in the end its worth it. The Z feels fastah.

Bassani just informed me a couple of days ago about their LTs, they said they're doing R&D fitment with their TD on Fbodies.

Bene, which headers are you planning on going with, and will you be retaining you're catalytic converters? Aside from the fitment issue's that you experienced, how does she sound?

It's about time, looks like I'll continue playing the waiting game for the headers then. Thanks!

That really doesn't make much sense to me.
They are in R&D for a car that hasn't been produced in 4+ years????

I'll be bringing in another F-body
here into the R@D department within the next 30 days to prototype a new set
of headers; I will do perform an installation of the dual system on that car
for you to see where the problem may be.... I appreciate
your contact and look forward to making you satisfied with your purchase of
Bassani products in the near future.

I know that bassani offer mid lengths headers for fbodies already, I doubt their next R&D is shorty headers.

Awesome. Can't wait to hear the system when it's accompanied with the 224/228 110+0 (plenty-o-lift guys, so don't worry) grind that I decided on. The header issue still has me concerned though... as I'd like to get my hands on them from Bassani, before the "rapture"!

Then again, with Kooks being a mere hour and a half from my home, I'm not too concerned though to tell you the truth...

i've been waiting the 4-2-1 headers for the f-body since last year. last time i talked with vinci and bassani, the person that was supposed to drop their car off so they could get the headers done up, fell through. i may just have to drive to cali myself and let them use mine.

vinci did adapt the bassani tru-duals to a set of MACs with their catted y-pipe. i'll have to dig up the photos they had put up.

you'll like the tru-duals. i have it on both cars.

Yeah, I'm thinking of doing the same set up like your wife's formula.

I was going to PM you about this a few hours ago, as I wanted to see if this was in fact feasible. I would really appreciate the photo's, as it'll give a much better perspective. Thanks!

you're telling me. i get to hang out with the owner of bassani (darrell bassani) when he comes to bradenton, fl with the NMCA races. he 'borrows' my cars for display purposes. so, of course, i put a bug in his ear each time about the headers.

here's some pics from the 2005 races

L to R mine, joe vinci's car, hers

i decided to enter the burnout contest

i bought the rear tires the friday before. drove 150 miles there. drove another 100 miles back and forth to a friends house. did the burnout contest. and drove home on this: 600 miles and GONE!!!
