any bets on how long it'll take me?? 1st plug swap
Well i finally got the parts in. after 6k shake out miles it's time for my baby's possible first plug change. 41k miles. still has/had the brake clips all around. The engine bay is mainly stock, including egr/air, manifolds. I've read some boast plug changes in under 30 min with practice and others say the still can't beat 2 hrs on a simple change.
So how long do you want to bet it takes me...?

first LS1 plug swap? 2 hours seems like a pretty good start. 1-7 in 30 minutes and 1 hour 30 minutes for number 8.

1 hour for the drivers side and two for the passenger.

took just about 2 hours. i actually think the front 2 are more difficult that the rest, and that passenger rear? not too bad once u finally find where the heck your 1 1/4" extension is...

nope, i wear latex gloves, and eventho they're so thin they actually prevent most knicks and cuts. although there definitely is some sharp stuff in those nice and easy to reach places...

Sunset Orange- 2001 Z28
I did mine last saturday for the first time. took 3 hours. Took a lot of "patience" breaks.
Followed the install university guide by removing the air tubes and moving the passenger side coil rail.
I think the hardest thing was getting the old plug wires off. Especially #8

Couple of quick tricks:
1. Take the passenger side coil packs loose- your arms will thank you for this otherwise you'll cut yourself up.
2. Get to #8 from underneath- don't even waste your time trying from the top- it ain't gonna happen.
3. Get some dielctrode grease and put it in the wires to save you the next time.
4. Get a 3" and a 1" extension and be careful trying to use universal joints on spark plug sockets- you'll crack the ceramic part of the plug because the u-joint shifts your leverage onto the ceramic.
5. Beer- need I say more?
