    Another FAST Intake question

Well my FAST intake came today and my friend said he read somewhere that a guy blew his motor up because he was running the setup untuned, said the mixture was to lien. I told my friend that the guy probably put the injectors on wrong but to be safe I had to post something up.

I have to go back to the tunner anyway to finish my cam tune but I already have the ls6 intake off to change out a coolant crossover gasket and was just going to put the FAST back on but now I am debating on if I should just wait until I get back to the dyno.

What exactly do you mean 'finish my cam tune?'

I would put it on but I wouldn't run the car WOT until the tune is done. That's just me. I would never run a heavily modified car WOT without knowing what the AFR is. Better safe than sorry.

never ever heard of an intake manifold causing an engine to blow up. Where ever he read this I would love to see evidence and proof behind this myth. Maybe the tune could go lean.

imo it leaned out at wot because of the more air the intake can flow. dont run it at wot and you should be ok for just driving. but take it and get it tuned!!!!!!!!

Never heard of this either. Put that manifold back on, get your tune finished, drive at less than WOT until then.

Last time I was at the shop my car was pinging so we couldn't finish tuning it so I have to go back. It turned out to be a bad plug wire.

So the consensus is that it will be fine just keep it out of wot? (which I will do anyway before the tune)
