Pewter- 2000 Z28 Camaro
Another exhaust thread
Just got done with doing headers on my 2000 Camaro, pacesetter longtubes with ory. I already have a set of tips I want to stick with so I'm not interested in ordering a whole new cat back so I was looking at bullet style mufflers to put in the mid pipe. The exhaust shop that i'm having put in a new midpipe and potentially a muffler says that they can only put in a muffler with a 4 inch case exterior without denting in the floorpan, how true this is I don't.
So what kind of options do I have as far as 4 inch case exteriors?
I was thinking about LM2, the shop didn't reccomend that though, i've heard better things about it than the LM1.
I was also looking at Moroso Spiral flows, or the Dynomax Bullet.
Any and all suggestions welcome,
Thanks,

LM1 & 2's are raspy loud.
Magnaflow sounds great without the rasp, with LT headers and even stock manifolds.
Kooks and Borla are about the top of the food chain for exhaust but they too sound so nice.
I have Pacesetter LT headers, ORY and 3" tubing to the Magnaflow muffler.
So where exactly are the placing the mufffler? I ask because it hangs above the rear between it and the fuel tank.

They're gonna put it in the mid pipe right before it goes up over the axle. I'm leaning towards either the Dynomax bullets, or magnaflow that was suggested. I'd like to go with the Borla XR-1 but it has a 5 inch casing and I was told they wouldn't be able to fit that without banging on the floor pan.

You could get the lm1 and replace the bullet muffler with am xr1 bullet muffler or similar bullet muffler if you don't like the lm1. I had it and loved it with my headers but I had a catted y pipe at the time.

There is not a whole lot of clearance in that area. Photobucket is acting stupid right now so I am unable to add a pic to this post.
