Midnight Blue- 1998 Camaro Z28 A4
Another EGR Help Thread
I would appreciate some assistance ordering parts if anyone could please lend some advice.
I have recently replaced my IM & TB, neither of which accomodate for California emissions unless you drill a hole in the IM, which I don't intend on doing.
I opted to ditch my car being smog legal, but have left my EGR alone until now & want it out. I have the unit, the annoying metal mesh tubing & it looks
like it connects via tube to my LT headers. With the unit coming completely out, my questions are:
- What parts will I need to order from TR to block the line "at or on" the headers that would normally go to the EGR (which will be gone) & what other parts would I require?
I am trying to make sure I do not leave anything out when I order from them. I am aware the car will require a tune to get the SES Code off.

Again, I appreciate any help.

I posted the part numbers about halfway down that thread. You can also get an expandable freeze out plug for the intake side. I'll post the size of plug if you need that.

Orion ty for your post.
I placed an order with Thunder Racing getting:
- EGR Delete Kit
- EGR Kit Gaskets
- Smog Pump Plates x2
- Smog Pump Plate Gaskets x2
Question:
Besides getting a tune afterwards to clear things up, get rid of codes, etc, is there anything else that completely removing my EGR will effect or have drawbacks too that I need to be aware of? (I realize the EGR is on there for California smogging purposes so it can't be too harmful to remove it.)
I just want to make sure my only hard part now will be to find a smogger.
Thanks for any input guys.
