Thread: alternator question?

alternator question?
question what does the connector on back of the alternator go too not the main cable the other one that plugs into the back, reason i ask is i found mine was spliced only one out of 4 wires was crimped the other 3 were cut , and too top it off, the crimp came lose and i have no idea where it went, what does that plug harness do?

If i'm not mistaking that wire goes to the computer and tells the alternator to charge the battery when the voltage is low. It is a 4 cable plug but only one wire is required. You need to splice it back. It should be a small red wire.
