Air Compressor Filter or Expensive Catch Can?
I'm getting the oil sucked out of my crankcase and into my intake. I'm gonna replace the PCV valve today and am considering installing either a filter inline before the TB or a catch can. Better to save the $ and just get a high volume compressor filter setup or one of those trick AMW catch cans? OR, should I just plug everything but the hole for the PCV valve and stick a breather in that?

I ordered the amw can(in the mail still) just because i'm too lazy to go get all the parts I need...I think sarge has one also, maybe he'll say if it's worth the money or not

I got it and put it on today. I was able to do it over lunch including the time it took me to jack the car up and crawl around underneath it looking for a dropped bolt. It looks nice and clean and matches my red STB and battery. I'm due for an oil change soon so I'm looking forward to keeping it all out of my intake. Hopefully this'll clear up the occasional pinging, stinky exhaust and sooty tailpipes.

My brother the mechanic is coming down from Dallas this weekend and bringing said can of SeaFoam with him. He suggested we do it after dark as the smoke created can be overwhelming.
I'm using RP 10-30 with a shot, per your recommendation, of 1 oz of VSOT/quart and a Purolator filter. I have a Bosch and a Napa Gold on the shelf in reserve.

Yeah that SeaFoam can kill a few million mosquito's......did you notice any difference in smoothness/sound with your RP/VSOT soup?

Oh yeah, I did. Much quieter than it was with the Mobil 1. I love driving the thing more and more as I add more and more stuff to it.

I did the ls6 breather conversion - it vent's from the valley pan instead of the valve covers - i haven't burned a drop since! - cost me about $50

Yup....also I have seen folks cap their PCV and stick a valve cover breather in there and stopped oil consumption.....
