1996 LT1 with bad cats please help!!

hey, anyone that has any info please post

I have a 1996 Pontiac Firebird Formula M6 with almost 107,000 on the odometer... The cats threw a code and the car is driving like butt.. only thing doen to the car is a K&N CAI. Other than just replacing the cats I thought I saw a header and Y pipe setup that came with high flow cats.. if there is a kind of set up I would rather do the header and everythiugn at once with the cats.. if not what choices do I have.... I went to a few shops and they are telling me i have to replace the entire manifolds with is bs caus emy buddy just cut and welded new ones... anyway please help me and let me know if there is a header and y pipe combo that come with cats!!

if you have the money for headers and a catted y-pipe, go that route...

if you dont have the money, go buy some cats and take them into a shop and get them welded in. just measure the sizes of the cats before you order. along with that, buy some rear O2 sims and you wont have any issues after that...

    94 Firebird Formula

I have a 94 LT1 Formula I picked up 6 months ago with 58k miles on it. The car came with a slowmaster, but sounds good. I have added a few bolt-ons, and I'd like to throw a new catback (gmmg) and headers on it, but some med bills showed up so I have to wait awhile on the exhaust.... In the meantime, I "gutted" my cat and left the flowmaster on. It now has a much more aggressive sound, a little louder, and a slight gain as well.

..but I'm in Florida (no emissions laws) so I have no emission worries here....just thought I'd throw that out there.
