Thumbs up Z06 loud exhaust from the factory

Read an article on 0 to 60.com about the factory exhaust system on the Z06 . Said that if you would like to have the system stay in the open position all the time all one must do is remove the plastic kick panel on the passenger side I believe and pull the fuse marked "EXHAUST" . They say it sounds great .

I'll have to store this info in my long term memory for when I can get a C6 Z06! Good info to know.

I read everything on this subject right after I bought mine. Pull this fuse, wire tap that one, got all the info. Listened to the whole Youtube "Wild to mild" clip too. I was convinced that I wanted to do this, only I didn't think I would want to switch it back to the "mild" factory setting.
I took my car to my Tuner and was having the ECU adjusted to remove the factory skip-shift feature. This drove me nuts after just two days because in my old car [SS Camaro] it had been disabilized for so long that I forgot what a pain in the ass it is.
Anyway, I asked him if he could do anything in the ECU seeing as there is a module for the exhaust.
No such luck. I explained to him what I wanted to do, and he took one look at the rear end of the car which was up in the air, because we were going to do the first oil change too at 1000 miles. (I'm old school)
He said "Hmmm this things all controlled by vacuum, let me just pull this hose right here and Psssst...there ya go, the valves will never close again, until you want them to"
So we capped them off and the car sounds GREAT!!!!!!!
Much better than I even imagined!
This is the way the car sould have sounded in the first place. There IS a resonance at 1500 RPM which I prefer, but might drive you nuts.
So before you spend a penny on any aftermarket stuff, do this mod instead, and leave your expensive wiring alone!
Quick note: simply pulling the fuse WILL NOT WORK!
