I ,for one ,would prefer the Corvette to stay front engine, rear drive. I know the second it goes mid engine, the price will sky rocket, and my dream to buy a new Corvette goes down the toilet. Its already pretty close to 50/50 weight distribution anyways, maybe move a little bit more of the gear rearwards and make it perfect?
