So what do i need to improve
BlownC5 you might be able to help me a bit... i have an 00 FRC and love it, but i know all cars have places that need improvement... what are some?
i plan on doing a shifter and CAI pretty soon, but what are some other improvements i can do to make things better?
im not talking major mods, but things like the endlinks mentioned in another post.

man i dont like the vara ram system... the build quality on it looks terrible... ill prolly just go with a black wing and cut some holes in the area where the fog lights are to let it breath a lil cooler air..
its a good idea and i dont know y there isnt a ram air system on the vette from the factory... i have thought about buying a system that pulls air from radiator area and not cutting the hole into the radiator duct so i would have a sealed box and running some tubing for ram air from the fog light holes up to some hole drilled in the sealed box... just dont know if i want to spend the money to do it and then find out it doesnt work well...
oh and what about removing the AIR system... do these things have egr's...

like i said... not really wanting to know about heads, cams, headers... thats all common ls1 stuff...
more like vette specific problems... i mean if i decide to keep the car ill go all out on it... heads, cam, intake, full exhaust, twin turbo/supercharger, internal, nitrous, m15, so forth...
i want to know stuff like... umm you should replace the brake lines with stainless or get rid of the smog pump for a few more horses... like small stuff that should have been done factory...

What type of shifter are you planning on going with?
I went with the B&M Ripper Shifter, works great for finding third gear, spring loaded and adjustable.
I also added the smooth B&M T-handle, although I had to drill and tap it to make it fit, never seen anyone else with one.
Making mine unique.

In this photo there are several cheap mods, the most obvious is the twin K&N.
I installed this in 98 back when there were few or no mods out yet.
It is a plumbers T from home depot (sprayed black) with two 4X9" K&n`s (total cost was like $80.00).
Also I drilled holes down by my fog lights, I should of patened (spelling) it.
I did this on my own not ever seen it done before, experimenting on a 1 year old vette...
Later I relocted the intake sensor up closer to the filter. (cooler)
There is also a plumbers rubber coupler that attaches to the throttle body (smoother air flow) and cost like $5.00
Later as the mods started to come on the market I got an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. Not too expensive, off hand I don`t remember the price, but it was good for 1 tenth at the track.

waht do yall think about my idea of taking a filter and box as such....
and not cutting into the radiator tunnel and running some tubes to it from the fog light area... think i will starve the motor or you think ill get some decent results from it? or atleast more than with a conventional setup?
my other idea was to just get and open filter unit like a haltech, k and n, or black wing... open up the fog light holes... and getting a peice of plastic and putting it as such...
hopefully this will keep the cool ari where i want it... i know this wont pressurize the system or anything. what yall think?

Jet Stream Blue- 2009 Lingenfelter ZR1
Colder air is the key, it would be similar to a vararam.

you think its a good idea though?
i mean alot of ppl say though the vara ram is poor quality they really notice a difference... i wanted VR until i took a closer look at it... but do i really want to make a $250 mistake?

Light Metallic Pewter- 2000 Corvette Coupe
Here's a vortex 01-04 Difference from 2000 is the filter is bigger, you need to adapt coupler to fit your maf which is 1/4" smaller. Filter is nearly new.
Crack at the base isn't visible upon install. Shipped as seen in an obviously large carton, $210
