Highest Mileage LS1...Ever??

Saw a 99 Corvette for sale the other day at one of our commercial accounts from work. It was dark red (forget the name of the color), tan interior, bone stock, M6, $8,000.

One of my coworkers was interested in buying it - the kicker was that it has 287,000 miles on it though.

Apparently it belonged to a lawyer who bought it brand new and drove it over 100 miles per day for work. Interior was pretty beat (needed seats and new carpet) but the exterior was in great condition, only a couple little scratches and knicks. Whats amazing is that it still runs great, we started it up and it ran like a brand new motor. A true testament to the durability of the LS engines.

So has anyone seen an LS with higher mileage, or is that a record??

That isnt bad. Thats the highest I have heard of. My paint is in horrible shape(to me) and my drivers seat is wore out.. The rest is immaculant.

Minus the doomed tranny and rear end

A member on another forum recently reported that he crossed the 300,000 mile mark, with the original LS1 in his C5 Corvette.

highest ive heard of in a ls1 seen a couple of 4 cylinder chryslers beyond that but never an ls1

That's just really high on any car. My first car was a 94 honda hatch with 247,xxx miles on it. I went ahead and swapped the motor for a lower mileage one. But when I took the block apart the pistons and rods looked fine, as well as the valvetrain.

Good to know that the LS is good for basically eternity, lol

I know of two early 90's GM half tons that crossed the half mil mark, both had the 4.3L V6, before they switched to the Vortec. I had one at the time with 170k i think, ran just fine.

Dam that is alot of miles for a Vette. Our shop owner bought one that had 174k on it and I thought that was alot.

I should hopfully see 200k by next year. Im gonna try to see how long she runs.. i think a cam will make her throw those rod bolts

my '92 4.3L had 241K miles on it when I traded it in. I bet it's still running somewhere. Great engine!

My SS LS1 has 72K somefar.
