Headers install question
I have a 2002 Corvette coupe and my question is: What's involved with installing a set of headers and what's the best headers for ground clearance? I lowered the car about 2 inches and I'm worried about scraping the ground with them.
Thanks guys.

Hmmm...as far as longtubes go for a lowered vette, I'll have to get back to you on that...

Thanks jujofields. Appreciate it. I seen on Texas speed and perf. a set for 709.00 but I'm not sure their worth a damn or not.

If you want the absolute best, I'll go with the LG ProStreet, or their street performance
Also, the Dynatech Supermaxx are also a great set of headers
I hear good things from the TSP headers
As for the clearance, most of those headers will fit flush and won't hang down. This is on the ones I've seen with headers, including a few C6'sLast edited by Z06-Goose; 04-22-2008 at 08:21 PM.

Most of the headers available today for the Corvettes, are all good in my opinion. It's about how much you want to spend on them
LG and Dynatech are the most renown in producing more hp, however, the other ones are not that far behind, perhaps +-4hp which in my book is good enough...

Electron Blue- 2003 Corvette
Headers and Random Tech Hi Flow Cats were one of the first mods on my Vette. My boys and I installed them ourselves. It was about a 32 beer project per person project. We did it on jack stands, it would have been many times easier if we had it on a lift.
Little Blue Vette, Super Charged, Cammed, sprayed with meth, 373 gears, tubbed with 345's and someother stuff.

the only vette headers I have experience with are the FLP's. My buddy has them on his 98. Not that impressed with them myself. They look great but burn up his #7 plug wire on a regular basis....even through heat sleeves.

Well I installed my TSP headers with the X-pipe today and I must say it wasn't bad at all. 6 hrs and the sound is just amazing. How it wakes the car is just unbeleivable.

Silver/Pewter- 2000 C5 Corvette 6psd
Ive got LG street series, high flow metal matrix removable cats with off road pipes, borla exhaust, x pipe and dyno tune. I had the borlas for a while now, but believe it or not now that I have the longtubes my car is
1. a tad QUIETER on idle/low rpm driving.
2. MUCH louder at high rpm/WOT
3. and now Ive picked up significant gains all through out the rpm band (especially the mid and upper end).
oh yea:
4. when driving with a light foot, I get another mile or two per gallon!

Melrose Corvette's has a great set of headers and their exhaust system is coated with Random Technology Metal Matrix cats, very nice! Kooks has a great 1 7/8" primary header also and I've seen great HP results out of them.
