Thanks for the heads up on the recharge, but that is all i did last summer was recharge after recharge. I finally took it to the dealer. They told me the compressor was leaking and needed to be replaced.. according to those guys, they have to take a lot off the car just to get to the compressor and the cost would be $1200 buc's.. I don't believe that. I think you maybe able to take the right wheel off and pull the wheele well off and the compressor should be sitting right in front of you. What do you think??

you could do it for cheaper for sure ...i can not speak on behalf of the vettes...but for the f bodies ...you do need to take off a few things...the problem is the bolts they use ..1 they are long..and 2 they are a pain. but 1200 bones worth...i dont think so.

My A/C went out to I found a guy that charged me only 100 bucks for labor and I bought everything. I think iSpent 600-750 in total. Yes you have to take alot of stuff out I was with the guy that did the job and it took him 3-4 hours to take it out of car. It only took him 1 hour to put eveything back.

Check out this write up someone else did:

Not sure I would describe it as easy but it is doable.

    Good luck.

you sure its the compressor thats leaking?, i wouldnt trust a dealership to tell me something so expensive is going out, might just be a line, speaking from experience.

While you have everything off the front of the motor you might as well put a cam in it. Good luck.
