the suspension the vettes have are far better than the mustangs...even tho the 427's by roush are upgraded..it is still a solid axle...
both cars wouldnt hook till 3rd

I believe the 427 Rousch is flywheel rated HP, so possibly 380-390 rwhp?

The Vette is built for autocross and road courses, the Mustang was built for drag racing. So the Mustang has the better suspension for drag races. Just curious, how many C5's or C6's have you driven? A stock C5 and C6 will hook in second, it wont take it until third to hook up and Im pretty sure the Mustang would hook up in first or at the very least second.
Its 427 at the flywheel not the rear wheels. A stock C5 can do the 1/4 mile in 12.9 seconds with a good driver but normally it would be in the low 13's. A stock '08 C6 is around the mid 12's and stock '05-'07 C6 is mid to high 12's. As for the Mustang, it weighs around 35XX-36XXlb. and has 427hp, or so claimed 427hp. Its going to be in the mid to high 13's in the 1/4.Last edited by NemesisZ06; 10-19-2007 at 04:00 PM.

4400 lbs...
and they dont hook till mid way through third...
the vette would hook better on a road couse or a strip better than the mustang

You cant answer my question yet you want to ask me if Ive driven a 427. Well no I never have and Ive also never seen anywhere where the Roush 427 weighs 4400lb. either. Again, how many C5's or C6's have you driven? You obviously have never driven any because if you have you would know that in a straight line they will hook in second and not third and they would not hook better than the Mustang at a drag strip.

Who ever thinks IRS is good for launching at the strip must not have ever driven one
A C6 auto has gone 12.40's stock. Hell the record for a bone stock C5 is 12.6x.
That Rousch is a heavy pig. Stock for stock, both with good drivers I just don't see a C6, especially an '08 losing.-98 GTP Coupe. Silvermist and stock.

i figured that the c6 would pull a car or mayb two at the line..
ive never driven one but if they can hook on the street better what is the diffrence at a track...
i know the roush is set up for strip but being able to hook on the street better than the roush the c6 shouldnt loose any traction on the strip
the roush is 4450 gross

A solid axle car hooks better at the line than a IRS car..usually.
