C6 corvette extension housing difference

I was looking up corvette extension housings for 06-07 corvette. This is the piece between the t56 and rear diff. Gm shows the different part numbers for the base model and the z06 model. All the parts that go in these are the same number. So what would be the difference. I read that the z06 had a stronger rear diff case. So maybe the housing for the z06 is thicker. That's all I can figure. Anyone know anything about this.

Did you get a chance to look them up. All I can tell is they might be different lengths.

Ok... so the parts catalog told me nothing of a difference. And we don't stock either to even compare. All I can tell you, is the standard Vette housing is almost twice the price as a Z06 one.

List price for the base is over $800... and the Z06 one is $400.
