    2004 Vette

Hi , all , my 2004 Vette has stock programming and premium gas , with that said I get a pinging when I get on it ? it comes in around the higher rpm range then goes away ? car only has 20,000 miles on it , any idea's what this could be ? kinda makes me nervous sometimes ? I had it to the dealer and they said it's ok ?????

i go with the dealers ,it's ok ! i heard some guys with zo6/zr1c/6's, etc.. if they are low on gas you can put in ,regular.!. of course may not even notice if your not racing...engine automatically adjusts !! i not sure any of us can feel 10>15 horsepower loss ? our 2006 ss monte carlo v8 and 2008 impala ss v8 run regular [87] all the time, monte has 100,000 miles on her... rkvette

you should never put anything below 91 octane in an LSX motor, it's just asking for trouble.

    Change gas stations

Have a look at the plugs,

    OEM Spark PLUG : 41-110

Have a tuner look at the tune

I run NGK tr55's but I have mods

Don't romp on this motor if it is Detonating

    Luck !

i would put money on it that it is your maf sensor. I had the same problem and wasnt throwing any codes had the dealer look at it and they said it was fine well BS. so i talked to a local tuner and he strongly recomended that i replace the maf. I replaced it with a oem maf and not a single ping since. he said that they just get lazy. it doesnt have to throw a code to be bad.. i would try cleaning it first if that doesnt work, try swapping it out. i know they are pricey so if you have a friend with a ls1 borrow his and take it for a ride if the ping is gone, replace it. just make sure you use oem though. aftermarket mafs or ported ones are junk
