    1967 corvette

My dad has a 1967 corvette with the 327. He wants to do a total resto on the car and wants to put an LS motor in the car and is looking at the ls7. Would that fit and if so, what would be needed to make it fit. Thanks

I have looked at a few older Vettes with LS motor swaps in a couple of magazines. Probably the fuel system and the accessory drive will be the biggest issues. Not sure about tunnel mods for a transmission -- depends on if you are going to go with a TH400, or something that already fits. I am sure there are companies that manufacture kits to make all this work -- both "Corvette" and "Corvette Fever" are great magazines that have lots of ads to check out.

Anything will fit -- its all about time, money, and how much you want to alter the car.

An LS1 with a H/C/I swap would get you there a whole lot cheaper.

Although the LS7 is a great engine, and I dearly love mine, I wouldn't think that spending over 10 grand on it is worth the cost.
Your dad can reach 500hp much easier and much less expensive.
Take for example, a 405hp LS6 crate engine is available for right around $3,000.00 Mod it with LT headers, cam, and a cold air, and he'd be close to that mark.
I know because I did that exact mod with my 2001 SS Camaro. A different set of heads and he'd be even better off.
And good ol Dad would have a bunch of $$$ left over for his Vette.

My Dad had one of those exact cars! That car would move pretty well for what it was, his had the 4v carb, so I think it was rated at 275hp.

That's my dream affordable garage.... I bet if you looked hard enough, all those cars can be had for under $100,000.

    If I saw a 1967 Impala for under $100g, I'd buy it!

I was about to say, lol.

4 door impala with 327, I seen them for $10,000-15,000 in great shape.
99 H1, dealer said they will take $35,000 out the door (40,000 miles).
04 Maserti $30,000, couple listed on autotrader (Under 30,000 miles).
CTS-V about $15,000-25,000 for mint low milage ones.

That's with out really looking hard, thats what I seen going for those rides within the past 6 months around town.
