WS-6 and Firehawk
Can someone please explain the difference of a 1999 WS-6 and a Firehawk. I found a Firehawk which I'm going to buy.
Thank you.

So if I'm buying the car for moding it. It really does not make any deference if it is a Firehawk or a WS-6. Also I was told that the Firehawk is lighter than WS-6. If it is lighter how did they loose weight?

Navy Blue Metallic- `98 Formula M6 HdTp
The WS6 and Firehawks have virtually no difference in performance
In `99 the WS6 was rated at 320HP the Hawks were rated at 327HP because of their better exhaust system (Dual Dual).
their were different suspension options, But the base Hawk Suspension is similar to the WS6

no question..dont mod a firehawk..buy it and keep it...you will turn more heads and at f-bod meets your car will be teh shit...actually lower it..but make sure you KEEP! everything stock about the car ..even if you do end up moding..just make sure you dont sell or get rid of any of the parts

ws6 has a ws6 hood, ws6 exhaust, and 1le springs, and ws6 17' rims and made at GM except for the hood which ASC did... a firehawk has a firehawk hood, firehawk rims, and the slp dual-dual exhaust, a cool plack on top of the ash tray door in base form... later model years hawks also got the blackwing air lid and donaldson air element...it starts off as a plain old trans am but then is sent to SLP in MI , a few miles over the lake... also the firehawk can have additional slp options added under the RPO code Y2Y like a special differential (aurburn pro) in the 99+ years, oil package by castrol, suspenension upgrade (bilstein)...there is no real performance difference....i myself would mildly mod one keeping all gm parts like a C5 13' rotor upgrade or ls6 heads and a cam or factory hurst or add the air sport seats if the car doesnt already have them or if you can find a blackwing air lid throw it on...u get the idea..i would NOT start ripping the interior and tubbing it for slicks
