I was turning left and some B$%^& ran a red light and BOOOOOOOM. She smashed my front end to pieces with a chevy tahoe. Now shes got a bumper ding and some body damage, and my unibody is splayed open!!!!! My car is FU**ED. 97 Pontiac Trans am with 8k in a 383 lt1 and 2-3k around the other places. I did ALL of the work my self, blood sweat and tears. I'm screwed. Shes getting a ticket for no lisence, THATS IT. 4 more feet and I could have DIED. Meanwhile this bi*** is on the phone giggling with her friends. I'm lost in fury and I can't figure out what to do. The inspector is coming to check out my car tomorrow and they're going to say its totaled. How the hell do I get my money's worth back out of this car?? I'm supposed to be leaving for school 2000 miles away in a MONTH. WTF do I do? The motor started, but it ran like shit. I think the opti got fucked but everything else seeeeeeems to be in good shape. I HAVE to get my money's worth out of that if not get the motor and trans out itself. walbro pump in the back too. And she SMASHed the HID's I just installed in headlights and foglights. The worst part of this whole thing is 5 minutes later she was standing with some friends on her phone LAUGHING. I had to just stay 50 feet away so I didn't go to jail. Help me guys, how do I play this situation to get my money and time's worth?

that sux bro... sorry bout the loss... if you spent money on the car and you have the receipts or prove that you did spent money on it.. you are getting money back for that,, but i would have tehm pay the car, give yoy some of the money you spent, cus they dont give you all the money when you spend on parts or work to the car, but try to buy the car back from the insurance when they pay it off to you,, most likely you gonna pay less than $500 for the damaged car, and by the law you are the first person they have offer the car.

sorry this happened. no doubt, some people just shouldn't drive

if you have the car, take off what you can and keep it out of sight until insurance takes a look at it. mods will only hurt you in this case unless your insurance knows about them. the mods wont add value to the car, period.

best thing would see what they might total it out at, settle on a dollar amount, buy it back for a couple hundred dollars, and then find a donor car to buy and swap stuff over to.

also, go after the lady for deminished car vaule, and "your neck hurts".

Did you go to the hospital? If not, go immediately. Get it on record. Then when the insurance contacts you about the car, they will be more willing to give you more $ so you will sign off. If you have it on record of going to the hospital, the insurance company will be worried about getting billed for that. They want to close this claim as fast as possible, so don't let them.
