Wrecked!
Took a wild ride in the WS6 last night leaving a wedding reception. I floored it out of the parking lot, caught second and took a straight left into the curb and down the embankment with rocks & concrete. Seemed my steering rack just folded on me. Motor is fine, thank goodness, however the front passenger tire is pushed towards the back of the car. Front bumper is toast, headlight dented, steering rack is completely out of whack. 3 cut tires, 3 cracked rims. Oil pan survives! The back quarter panel is also dented from the flex of the car. Will they total it? What do you think it'll cost to fix? I'm figuring a whole new front bumper assembly with paint. Oh, and the door is out of alignment. Just wonder if maybe I should move on to another vehicle...

Good to hear. Make sure that faulty rack is replaced as well.

Door out of alignment??? Sounds like something important in the structure got tweaked. OUCH!!!!
Usually when it gets that bad on a unibody car,,,they are never the same,,,,you'll be fighting wind leaks and water leaks for the rest of it's life more than likely.
Personally, I would look for another car Sorry to hear it.

Not really out of align, just squeaky when opening. I've sunk too much money into it just to let it go. Its garage kept anyway, & doesn't play in the rain anymore. If I decide to part ways with it, I'll have to look for a Z06. lol

If your shock towers are out of alignment from one another, your frame is damaged more than you think, it is no longer a cosmetic issue, I would move on to another vehicle.

Got word today. Car is fine other than the front suspension. The k member is broke in half. No big deal, except insurance only wants to cover the cost on just 3 tires and wheels... WTF? The adjuster says there's nothing wrong with the lone wheel & tire, but can I even order just 3 wheels? The tires had less than 1000 miles on them. Would love to slap something new on there, or step it up to some 19's.

If the wheels you currently have on the car aren't discontinued...then you should be able to order 3 wheels.

Question. Will the k-member out of a 98 LS1 car fit in my 02?

I found the entire k-member and rack&pinion with struts, springs, etc. for a good deal. Just wondering if the fitment would be the same.
