Windows go dead, radio cuts off....!

For no peticular reason, driving along or sitting still. Everything else will still work. Batterys good, all connetions that I can get to...clean and tight. Might do it twice one day, maybe a month before it does it again, usually on cold days. On another post awhile back someone mentioned that maybe the door sensor for the RAP module was dirty or something...where is the door sensor? Is it magnetic or built into the latch or what. This little "gremlin" freaks the wife out...lol...because it only seams to happen when she drives!

Switch is part of latch. If it goes bad, radio will stay on until RAP takes over and kills it,I think eight to ten min. after key is removed. Also factory alarm won't set.

Just checked wiring diagram-from the body control module there is a dark blue wire that feed both fuses for radio and windows.Either a loose connection, bad wire or bad BCM.

Thanx Ed. But as luck would have it, I was up on another f body site and everybody with this same problem ended up swappin' out the BCM, and that eliminated the problem....160 bucks....oh well....!

When I start troubleshooting a problem and there is a list of maybe five or six things that could cause that,I usually start with the cheapest solution. But Hell, you can start anywhere especially if you got the bucks!Hope that does it for you and let us know how that turned out!

My bad for being lazy and leavin' out details. In each case they said they did that, and in the "factory service manual" it tells how to do just that. Like ya' said: "the easy stuff first"! But in my case...it'll have to wait a while...I just spent all my extra cash on Xmas for the fam...and I gotta' get new rubber for my...ahem...new 17" Ws6 rims I got for myself sitting on the garage floor...heh-heh!!
