    Window motors

Just curious at what age or mileage did you guys change your window motors if you have at all, just trying to get a general idea of what to expect thanks to one of gm's major screw ups.

Rarely used my passenger side and it went out at 17K and about 3 years. After replacing it the double drivers side switch wouldn't operate it - put a new switch in and it worked. Don't know if the motor going bad caused the switch proplem, or the switch caused the motor problem. Anyway, I wouldn't worry about it they're easy to replace yourself.

My car is a 99 with 56,000. Only changed the driver around 45k. Both windows are down for just about every ride.

huh I see... still haven't heard of anyone saying that its lasted them up to 100k miles, or 5 years or something like that. I've noticed that my passenger side window is slower then the drivers... but still really good.

LMAO, the double drivers side switch failed on mine to same time as the power window motor on passengers side. Hardest part of the damn job is getting the power connector back on, plus getting the door pannel on. I had to get my brother to help me with the door panel, one person to make sure the left was in, another on the right.
