    Window motor replacement

My brother has a 02 trans am and the window motors are going out. Is there a write up on replacing them?

Mine wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. It took longer to remove the door panel, as somebody had replaced the motor previously and there were holes already in the door frame, so I didn't have to drill them per the write-up. I picked up my window motor at Advance Auto for about $50, it has a lifetime warranty and has everything you need to install it.

if you are having trouble getting to it you can always take out the door speaker to get yourself another access point.

Yep, you'll most definitely want to take the door speaker out. Just a few screws and it's out. Just don't poke a hole in it unless you plan on upgrading your speakers

You actually do not have to replace the motor. most likely anyway. You could instead solder in a heaver gauge wire for greater resistance. Someone did a great writeup on tech, I did it on my dead motor and it has been working every day since. (My DS motor had actually already been replaced so I soldered in a bigger wire into a replacement motor as well)
Not sure if I can link to tech but here it is How to permanently repair your window motors (With Pics!) - LS1TECH

Otherwise the thread is called 'how to permanently repair your window motors with pics'
