window issue

ok so im just gonna cut right to the problem here...

my drivers side window wont go down or operate for that matter. it was working fine last night with absolutely no signs of the gear going out but now its just immobile.

anyone have any ideas...and its a power window just in case it wasnt implied

Beat the shit outta the door panel in the flat spot while holding it in the down position. It should free the motor and allow you to at least use it for a while

You motor is most likely toast...

i was really hoping this wouldnt be the case do they often go out without showing any signs of slowing?

cuz i know my passenger side window is on the outs since it takes forever to row up but the drivers side caught me off guard since it had been working perfectly

ok so went outside during my break to do some more checks on it and notice that when ever i press down on the button to row the window down there is this kind of clicking noise that occurs.

now the clicking doesnt come from the door but seems to come from the dash panel or that area at least.

so back outside to do some more checks again during my lunch...

well i have found that the "clicking" noise is definantly conming from the area below the instrument panel like where the pedals are you know...would this be due to the motor going bad or is it shaping up to be a diff cause

There are two black box relays for each side. They will click, even if they are working. Motor swaps arent hard at all. Especially if you drill the 3 holes for them.

ok thanks joshie good to know.

well for now i just decided to charge my ac since it didnt work so that will at least make her driveable in this texas heat.

but once i get some more time on my hands ill give a shot at changing the motor.

also does changing the motor require me to have steady hands? i know theres a write up somewhere that i will dig up once i get the time but just hoping it doesnt require too much precision because my hands dont function that way
