Will I need to upgrade injectors with a cam swap?

I'm looking to do a cam swap in the spring with all the goodies.. It'll be a custom grind known as "the bull". 230/230 duration and I have most of the bolt-ons already along with a SS4000 stall already in the car.

Looking to make 390rwhp-400rwhp, with plenty under the curve. Not really sure, but that's about what i've been seeing people make.

I have a 2000 so I have 26lb. injectors correct? Anyone think I'll need to upgrade them?

You will more then likely have to upgrade. You will be very close to 100% duty cycle. Green Top Ford 42 lbers is what I and many others have gone with. You can find them for 210 USD on Ford racings website. Cheap.

I've seen many cam swaps parts lists and no one ever mentions injectors, so I wasn't sure.

    Thanks.

it's an area that often gets looked over. You'll be really close I would think....actually I think you'll be over but you'll be really close to getting those to work. I'd probably go ahead and budget for the injectors. Save you some headaches down the road.

37lb injectors would be suffcient for that HP range ..... Racetronix makes a set and Texas Speed sells them for a reasonable price.

I always reccomend the Green Tops for a few reasons.

They are very popular. A good tuner usually has the injector scaling numbers on hand already.

    They are cheap (200 bucks)

    Never heard of a failure

Room to grow for future modification

That's always something that is a must. To be honest I always assumed the injectors didn't need to be changed for most cam only swaps. I didn't think about cam size for some retarded reason.

My tuner said a cammed ls1 would definitely need bigger injectors. I'm running at 96% duty cycle with just bolt ons.

As was I. With full bolt ons I was at 91%. Although, whoever tuned the car for those I think hacked it badly and it was running way rich. Either way, injectors were obviously needed.

Its one of those things that so commonly get over looked when someone wants to do a cam swap. There are alot of little extras that will nickle and dime you.

If I decide to run a 100 shot or something in the future the 42lb. should be sufficient. But who knows if i'll run dry or wet. I don't know much about it yet, so i will steer clear of n2o for now.

    I'll be doing, i guess:

    Injectors
    Custom grind
    Spring Kit with pushrods
    LS2 Chain
Oil pump, not sure what yet
    Gasket Kit

Probably LCAs and a pan-hard bar.

    Still gotta pick tires

Haven't tallied up how much that will cost, but i'm not too worried about it.

    EDIT:

I should mention I already have:

    Rebuilt 4L60E / Trans-go HD2 / SS4000 / Aux. Cooler
SLP intake with stock ported T/B
    LS6 Intake
    SFCs
Removed the front sway bar, but I don't know if I like that.
