Will a "ghetto rigged" PCV system cause a high idle?

My PCV system is set up like its suppose to be with a catch can but minus the catch can. So the hoses are just dumped to the bottom of my motor... Would this cause a high idle?

It's essentially a metered vacuum leak. If you plug the hose, does the idle drop?

so is the intake sucking air? If so it's a vacuum leak and will cause your high idle.

it is set up like this http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/attach...cv-1ls1ext.jpg
but i have no catch-can. I have the instake valve that sucks air in capped off so there is no vacuum leak there...

No catch can , I may add one later, but its running fine without one. I switched from 98 valve covers to ls6 valve covers which dont have the extra nipple on the back passengers side.

on the back next to the map sensor and that would cause the idle issue

I have big hands and you can get them back there if you get in at the right angle. its pointing toward the passengers side on the back of the intake
