Wierd smell

can yal please help i get this weird smell only when i mash on the throttle, during normal driving and shifting no smell, car is an m6 with 45k miles. plugs n wires r good, its not antifreeze i know what that smells like,plus the level is fine no leaks noticed.it only happpens when i mash on the throttle i dont even go that high maybe about 4700 4800. theres no smoke,but it comes through the vents, air is off, i took off the belt. i dont think its the clutch gears still goin fine, no problems shifting. i dont know what it is and its bothering the hell out of me. also there is no weird abnormal noises.

can you discribed the smell better is it like a gas smell/ something dead smell

are you sure its not the clutch slipping? does it kinda smell like burt brakes but a lil different?

If it only does it at High Rpm i would lean towards clutch slipping. Kinda a sweet burnt smell.

there's a lot of things it could be... could be a plug wire resting on the header, a clutch slipping, etc ect... what kind of smell is it???

its not gas, its not a raw smell, and its not as sweet like antifreeze, and yes its only at high rpms. its not a harsh smell though.

the car is 10 yrs old completely stock , u think its about time the clutch starts goin out on it.

yeah I think so, Ive never had one even last that long... may just be my abusive driving though

^^^^^i dont drive it much mostly cause of work, but i do when i get a chance, i really dont hit it hard to often either, but i just got the urge and lone behold that damn smell comes through the vnets

so its probaly in the beggining stage of slippage, what do yal think of monster clutches, the car is not gonna stay stock long, heads cam, maybe a procharger depending on funds,

,keep in mind this is gonna be a mostly street car, with very little track time seen, a 9 inch is also in the near future
