    Whistling Sound

I just heard it the first time a few days ago. Its not doing it constantly, otherwise I'd have dogs chasing me down the street howling.

The car is completely warmed up, been driving for about 1/2 hour on the highway. I let up off the gas and coast and hear a high pitched whistling sound. It seems like it goes away when I accelerate again.

Of course anytime I can pull over and stop and pop the hood it stops. Any suggestions?

Everything is stock except for the catback.

    Front.

On another site it was suggested that it may be the air system. When it gets back into the 40's I'll pop the hood and check out the connections on the air and egr.

It is definitely under the hood. Its on the passenger side of the vehicle couldn't really pin point the location.

I was in a parking garage and I didn't have much time was on my way to a meeting so I couldn't really pin point the location. Of course the normal rule applies, it didn't do it when I went home and put the car in my driveway.

I got the whistling to start again, it stopped after about a minute of trying to pinpoint the noise.

Initial listen puts in in the vicinity of the AIR, EGR or PCV
it is definitely on the passenger side. I'm going to try replacing the PCV valve first, haven't done it in a while.

If it does it again after that I'm pulling AIR fuse/hoses.

ok, just replaced the PCV and went out for a nice night ride. 1/2 hour later no whistle.

There was some crud on the old PCV valve but nothing that stoped it from rattling. Car idles a little smoother.

I found the source after moving the hose connected to the PCV valve again, I noticed the hose directly under the PCV hose was almost completely disconnected.

    WHISTLING SOUND IS GONE!!!

now to figure out where that rattling noise is comming from.

I had bad rattling coming from the o2 sensors...there's a metal ring around the sensor at the start of the wiring insulation. The damn thing rattles like no ones business...a little RTV will quiet it down.
