The BCM is located on the passenger side under the dash just behind the glove box.

BCM Stands for Body Control Module
The part number I believe is 9353691 & it lists for approximately $ 117.72 at GMPARTSDIRECT
You know that the BCM will have to be programmed right ? As far as programming goes, either the dealer or someone that has access to a gm tech II programmer will have to do it.
Good luck.

Midnight Blue- 2001 WS6 TRANS AM
Dont mean to barge in guys, does a 2001 WS6 have a BCM too or a computer?? Im having a ton of electrical problems and I think this might be the cause. And would a used one fit off any LS1 or would it have to come off a WS6??
Thanks

See I didnt know that I thought it programmed itself. Ok so let me know what you think here is the situation. I turn my car off and then the next day i go to turn it back on and nothing happens no lights nothing all I see and hear is the security light clicking and going nuts. I disconnect the battery leave it off for a day and reconnect and teh nits fine. So I am under the impression its either the BCM or the VATs. What do you think? Also is the bcm that holds the settings when you connect a tuner like a diablo sport or something?

no the pcm holds everything as far as handheld tuners go..that is located in the driver side foot well lose to the center console. the bcm is a strong possibility ...have you changed batteries ? cleaned the terminals? i'd try that before you dive into the bcm

http://www.ls1.com/forums/showthread.php?t=61262 Follow the troubleshooting steps to find out what is exactly wrong...chances are its not the BCM. Usually what happens is the wires behind the ignition tumbler that carry you keys resistance value to the BCM start to break...or do break completely. If that's the case then you either need to get a new ignition cylinder w/ new keys and have the BCM programmed or bypass it.

you've ruled out all the wires? Even the ones going to the alternator and starter? When my vats went out I don't remember it affecting the interior lights at all.
