Where does this hose go to?

I just bought my first ls1 car a few days ago and my SLP airbox has a hose coming off the right side. It can be seen at Jegs.com if you type in slp intake. The hose is missing and the fitting is capped of with electrical tape (previous owner) and I would like to correct this. Where does this hose go? Thanks guys

Probably the hose for the air pump. Most likely previous owner removed the air pump and all its parts or just the hose. It's for emissions and is only used on start up. Depending on your location this may or may not be a problem. I have mine capped from where I removed it. But it's a rubber fitting not electrical tape.

If you search the forum pajeff did a full write up on how remove it with pictures so you can see everything but it's behind the the drl/turn signal in front of the wheel on that side of the car. If it's there anymore.

I removed mine after it died and had it tuned out of the computer. Weighs quite a bit and isn't needed.

    Here's the thread: http://www.ls1.com/forums/f6/seconda...emoval-130641/

It does sound like secondary air -- the hose you are referring to feeds filtered air to an electric pump that is mounted in the cavity in front of the left front wheel well. You get to it by removing two 10 mm bolts and flipping down a plastic access door. The thread has a part number for a rubber plug that fits the hole in your lid perfectly - should be able to get it at at most parts stores.

    Sounds like a plan.
