When is it safe to drive after salt is on the road
When is it safe to drive after salt is on the roads?
We have had snow and ice, and there has been a lot of salt put on the roads. But we finally have some decent sunny weather....
a few mild rains... for the most part the roads look clear but maybe you can still see the salt as a white haze in parking lots and such..
some random salt rocks....
Is it safe to drive??
what if the streets are dry but you can still see the salt on the roads?
Only after it rains?
Only after it rains multiple times?

I usually wait until a few good rains after the snow is all gone. I have taken mine out sooner, but always washed when I got back home. I know a lot of guys that don't get theirs out until memorial day. If you take it out and get salt on it, just wash it real well when you get home.

I will take my car out after 2-3 real good rain falls after the snow is gone.

I like to wait until after a few goods rains. Usually late March, early April is about the time I get her driving.
I my 6LE gauges come and I get them installed, and the weather is nice, I'm going to start driving my car. Everyone is bringing out their nice cars around here...

Drive mine year round too. Only time it sits is when the snow starts to pile up and traction becomes a problem. Then the suv comes out. Lifes to short to drive a POS half the year. If your that worried about salt, just wash it.

As long as its dry, it doesn't bother me enough to worry about it.

Owned since new and driven every ohio winter. still has no rust on floor pans or frame sections. All you have to do is wash the car often in the winter. $8 every other week is a cheap way to keep the rust off.

Driven in every kind of weather there possibly is. Wisconsin snow and ice to Elpaso Texas sand storms to blistering arizona heat. My car is a Daily driver and a nice wash and wax now and then and good as new. get a undercar blast ever now and then during those bad weather months and drive it like you stole it.
