Whats My Next Bolt On Mod?
Currently I have kooks longtubes, TSP catted ypipe w/magnaflow cats, and TSP rumbler catback, as well as a mild tune from Frost at lsxtune.com.
My objective is to be able to run a mild 400 hp reilably at the rear wheels with a daily driver car. Im thinking a cam is probably my best next step?Last edited by Justin93; 08-12-2008 at 01:10 PM.

if that's your goal you should sit down and figure out the best game plan. I can only give you my opinion.
you already have an ls6 intake so I would worry about the fast just yet. 1.7 is the stock ratio on the rockers so there's nothing really to be gained there. If you do the cam you'll need to do springs and if you plan on heads at some point then doing springs now would be a waste of money most likely. If you're planning on a cam the pulley will have to come off so no sense in taking it off twice.
I would do the heads, cam, pulley, pushrods, and intake all at the same time and would throw a ported oil pump in there for good measure.

If you are doing all this work you want to make sure that a 400hp daily driver is your long term goal. Better to do things the right way once rather than changing setups several times to try to find what you like.
Heads/Cam/Fast 90/Pulley is most likely going to net you well over 400whp since you're in an M6. A ported oil pump and electric water pump is going to free up some more hp as well. This is all a good thing if you want the power! However, if you are still on a stock clutch it is going to have a hard time holding the power at some point. As you can see it all starts to add up $$$ wise.
So like I said, think about your long term goal for the car. If you do all of the above mods, there is no reason it can't be a very streetable daily driver. It's all in the tuning! You can have a 500whp car that is very streetable for that matter.
If all you want is 400hp though, I'd say cam, pulley, and maybe a ported oil pump and electric water pump.

I got the clutch covered. I bought a ls7 clutch kit and flywheel lol.
It handles the 505 hp out of the vettes so i figure it should do fine.
the only reason I want the rockers so bad is my dad had an 04 vette that had a rocker bearing let go which is apparently common. If it wasnt under warranty it would have cost him a pretty penny! Plus I'd like to upgrade the push rods as well.Last edited by Justin93; 08-12-2008 at 02:36 PM.

Ah good deal. I have the LS7 clutch as well. I don't race my car at the track much, and the LS7 is a good street clutch cuz it can take the heat of street driving. Good call.
