What's the best shoes other than stock.

Need help deciding on what shoes to buy.I priced the stock ones and they wanted $185.00 just for the front. I like the fact that I have no brake dust from the stock shoes, but I don't want to pay that for shoes. Who makes a good clean running dust free shoe I can afford? The car is my 99 TA.

NAPA Ceramix....I run em on the GTO....dust free/squeek free.....damn fine stopping power....I think they are HAWK pads repackaged but cannot offer you any proof.....

I think your right about the re-packaging sarge.. i've heard that somewhere before..

But if it's hawks then you have awesome stopping power.. and if it's anything close to hawks your good to stop!!

don't buy the one step down from the ceramix at NAPA they are the squeakiest and dustiest breaks ever... if i think about stopping i need ear plugs and my wheels are black, god forbid if a stupid german cuts me off on the autobahn

I replaced the fronts w/ Hawks, stop alot better, have not had any dust or sqeaking. Also gave me a chance to paint the calipers. I have heard napa brakes squeak quiet a bit, dont' know if they were talking ceramix or not

As long as you buy a ceramic pad you'll be where you want too.Ceramic pads are low dust and surperior stopping power.Go to carclinic.com and see what bobby lycus has to say about them.I've been running ceramic pads for 1 year now and love them.Getting ready to switch to a larger rotor and 4 piston calipers.

I had very good experience using GM Durastop and Raybestos Quiet Stop pads. Very low dusting and great performance.

BTW, I have the Baer GT+ kit with 2-pc Eradispeeds on the front & 1-pc Eradispeeds on the rear.

I now have the Hawk HPS pads - don't like the way they broke in at all and they seem way to hard for the type of street driving I do. Next set I will be going back to the GM/Raybestos setup.

Guess it all depends on type of driving you plan on doing - for me, I don't particularly like the Hawks - but if you're in to AutoX they may be great...
